Jayden Atkins
Hi, I’m Jayden, Co-Founder of Activate Development, and building homes is in my blood.
I grew up in Warrnambool, Victoria, where my passion for construction began at a young age. My father was both a commercial and residential builder, and by the age of 12, I was right beside him, learning the ropes. The smell of fresh timber and the sound of hammering became second nature to me, and I quickly developed a love for the craft. As I progressed, I earned the title of Apprentice of the Year and started delivering new homes for my father’s company. The experience taught me the importance of craftsmanship, hard work, and integrity—values I carry with me to this day.
Years later, I made the move to the Sunshine Coast, looking for new opportunities and challenges. It was there that I briefly worked in the insurance industry and crossed paths with Jackson. We immediately connected, realizing that we shared the same frustrations with the building industry—lack of transparency, poor communication, and inconsistent quality. But more importantly, we both saw the potential to do better. Together, we founded Activate Development to continue my family’s legacy and to create a company built on trust, relationships, and exceptional quality.
For me, building homes is more than just a business—it’s about honouring my family’s history while putting my own stamp on the industry. I believe that every project should feel personal, not just for the clients, but for the entire team. At Activate Development, we’re committed to creating a work environment where everyone feels like part of the family. This means maintaining close relationships with our clients, listening to their needs, and involving them in the process every step of the way. We want our clients to feel empowered, informed, and confident as we turn their vision into reality.
When I’m not on-site or managing projects, I’m often spending time with my family, or working on personal projects that keep my passion for building alive. I take great pride in every home we build, knowing that we’re not just constructing houses, but creating spaces where families can grow and make memories.

Jackson McNaughton
I’m Jackson, the proud co-owner of Activate Development, and my journey in the building industry began in Toowoomba, Queensland, where I was born and raised. A small country town I know, but it’s also recognised as one of the birth places for great project managers and construction professionals.
My career started in structural steel delivery for major road projects across Queensland. This experience ignited my passion for construction, leading me to travel across Australia, working on a diverse range of commercial and residential projects. A few years ago, I settled on the Sunshine Coast, where I transitioned into the insurance building industry, and later, project and contracts management, overseeing a $60 million development for a local developer.
Throughout my career, I witnessed the challenges and shortcomings within the industry—poor communication, lack of transparency, and subpar craftsmanship. These experiences fuelled my desire to create something different. I envisioned Activate Development as a "dream building company," one that prioritizes transparency, quality, and a positive work culture. My goal is to redefine what clients can expect from their builder, ensuring they receive not only beautiful, custom homes but also a seamless and enjoyable building experience.

Our "live" project schedule keeps you informed every step of the way, allowing you to track your build in real-time. We conduct weekly toolbox meetings and provide clients with a weekly wrap-up, ensuring you’re always in the loop.
